What is the overround in betting?
The bookmaker's built-in edge. Turn every price in a market into a chance and they add up to more than 100%. The extra is the margin.
In practice
Example: in a two-horse race with both at 10/11, each price implies about a 52.4% chance. Together that is about 104.8%, and the extra 4.8% or so is the bookmaker's margin. The bigger the overround, the less the punter gets back over time.
The Funteron way: fans should not need to know any of this to have a bet. Funteron is designed to show every bet in plain words and in money: what it costs, what comes back if it wins and what you lose if it does not.
