What does evens mean in betting?

You win the same as you put on. £10 gets back £20.

In practice

Evens, written 1/1, 2.00 or +100, means you win the same as you stake. £10 at evens returns £20, your £10 plus £10 winnings. The price implies a 50% chance. The bookmaker's margin is built in, so the real chance is a little lower.

The Funteron way: fans should not need to know any of this to have a bet. Funteron is designed to show every bet in plain words and in money: what it costs, what comes back if it wins and what you lose if it does not.
